Mary was voted Sweetheart of Tau Epsilon Phi during her freshman year at the University of Maine. My memories of this photo were all wrong. She set me straight and this is the correct story behind the photo.

That was not a piano recital, by the way. That was in the spring of 1959 when I was chosen as the "Sweetheart of Tau Epsilon Phi" Fraternity. The picture just happened to be taken by the piano at the Pilot's Grill in Bangor, Maine.
Wow, I thought this was a recital picture! My memories are confused on this one. Thanks for the update
